CONGRATULATIONS ART SLAM WINNERS!

Saturday Bayshore art students led by their art teacher Kathy Cocciolone-Fitzgerald, wowed Bradenton and won the Art Slam competition sponsored by Realize Bradenton. 17 teams worked tirelessly from 10 am until 10 pm.

"Don't Let the Arts Disappear" was the title of Bayshore's group. Early in the day people spattered paint on the background. After makeup was applied, the girls performed as speakers related facts about the importance of art in schools and in our lives. Even though the group had technical difficulties, they were by far the crowd favorite as they performed every 45 minutess. Read more about the event in the BradentonHerald.

Bayshore Wins Art Slam! Bayshore's Art Department will recieve $250. Fantastic!

HAITI HOUSES

We have raised over $1400 for Haiti through the sale of our pins and magnets. Art teachers all over the country are having their students make and sell these cute little houses. Nationally art students have been able to contribute over $137,000 for Haiti.

Manatee Schools are going to be selling our houses throughout the county. They have requested 1000 houses! If you want to help out, see Anna Reedy, Ms. Swanson or Ms. C. We make them after school, before school and have baggies available to take home. We are giving community service hours for your time.
